Next Meeting

Tuesday, 22nd October 2024.  10.30 am - 12 noon.

Tackling Invasive Species in the Wild Gardens, Roath Park

Working with Gareth Stamp, the Park Ranger for Roath Park, we have made a major impact on the spread of Himalayan balsam and cherry laurel in the Wild Gardens.  Over time this should increase the range of plants growing there and enhance biodiversity in the wood.  The next stage of our work is to remove more of the cherry laurel and the bamboo.  We are therefore holding two more working parties on 22nd October and the 5th November.  This is a real opportunity to make a difference for nature, the more people who can join us the greater success we will have.  The sessions will run from 10.30 to 12 noon.  Meet at the bridge on Wild Gardens Rd. Stout footwear and ‘gardening clothes’ are advised.
